Price Increases
Due to a variety of international pressures and currency fluctuations, Cisco Australia is increasing the Cisco AU RRP Price List from 3rd November 2008.

It appears that Cisco will not be the only vendor to follow this path, as we have seen similar indications from IBM also.

Orders received by Cisco prior to that date will be at the current price. Orders received on or after Monday 3rd November will be processed using the new increased pricing.

If you require assistance in assessing the impact of this price change, please contact your Sundata account manager.
NGF case study
Norton Goldfields (NGF) are a publicly listed company and are Australia's 4th largest gold miner.  While most of their employees are based at the iconic Paddington mine near Kalgoorlie, the company has its head office in Brisbane and has outsourced its IT requirements to Sundata.

Sundata provides the Sun-active managed service to ensure Norton's internal systems are reliable and perform to expectation - from the server infrastructure through to the MD's laptop.

QLD 400
Sundata again has been recognised as part of the Queensland Business Landscape, by our inclusion in the Qld 400 - Queenslands top 400 Privately owned companies.

Making the list of the top 400 privately owned businesses in Queensland is a huge achievement and an acknowledgment of the trust and relationships we have established with our clients over the years since our establishment in 1986.

APC certification
Leading datacentre infrastructure vendor APC, recently invited Sundata to join their elite "GOLD" partner program and supported this with extensive training to equip our team with the skills to design advanced datacentre solutions.  These solutions can be certified by APC to supply enough power and cooling for the installed equipment, providing additional peace of mind to our clients.

As well as traditional APC infrastructure such as cooling, racks and UPS equipment, we can supply datacentre management tools and services such as environment sensors, cameras, security equipment to meet the more stringent environmental requirements we continue to see.

About APC :
APC InfraStruXure is an innovative architecture for network-critical physical infrastructure (NCPI). Using an open,
building-block approach and standardized, modular components, InfraStruXure fully integrates power, cooling,
and environmental management within a rack-optimized design.

InfraStruXure lets you install only what is required today, yet easily scale to meet future demands. It also increases
system availability while decreasing design and install time from months to days.

InfraStruXure architecture is suitable for environments of all sizes, from wiring closets to large data centers.
Citrix Breakfast focusses on XenApp 5
Tuesday September 16 saw a number of Sundata customers gather at the Emporium Hotel in the Valley for a presentation from Citrix and IBM which primarily focussed on XenApp 5, which had been released only days before.

Phil Dean Jones from Citrix provided insight into the development path that has led to Release 5 and the type of benefits that Citrix users can expect.

More information on XenApp 5 can be obtained by reading the announcement letter:

Phil was backed up by Sven Hansen from IBM who outlined the various 'scale out' and 'scale up' strategies available to users building Citrix Infrastructure and the pro's and con's of each approach.  Both Blade and multi processor options were outlined in terms of the type of capacity and options for handling additional workloads.
